Red Rock Sand Mist Soda-Fired Shino Teacup No.90
$ 97.76
This short straight shino teacup is hand pinched, crafted with high-temperature soda vapor kiln firing combined with classic shino glaze technique, free of hand-painted pigment. Natural fusion of soda steam, feldspar and iron oxide mineral creates exclusive red rock sand mist ice crackle texture unique to every single piece. Short wide cylinder body with slightly tapered rim and stable wide foot, the curved body fits palm grip perfectly, ideal for dark oolong, pu’er, black tea and all heavy fermented tea varieties.Rich crimson iron glaze forms the base of the exterior, faded with charcoal brown rock streaks and off-white mineral sand speckles from top to bottom, textured just like gravel-covered weathered red rock surface. The interior features deep brown glaze base fully covered with delicate transparent ice crackle, dotted with tiny emerald mineral crystal flecks, finished with natural burnt brown kiln fire trim along the rim. Crimson, brown and cream mineral tones precipitate randomly under kiln heat, the layout of rock speckles and sand mist on every shino cup is one-of-a-kind, combining primitive shino texture and exclusive soda-fired kiln transformation. Full-body crackle develops soft gradient tea patina after long-term brewing. Breathable rough clay body mutes bitter off-notes, fully unlocking the mellow depth of tea liquor. Raw heavy red rock glaze matches vintage wabi-sabi, wilderness log and rustic minimalist tea table decor. Rare composite kiln texture exclusive to soda-fired shino serves both daily tea tasting and handmade pottery collectible display.
